8 Days to Go!
May 19th
Just eight days remain before our departure. As you can see, Addie is ready...more than ready. Changed the oil, did the lube thing. Addie is going to be a bedroom for some guests this week-end. Got her all hooked up and she will be the perfect hostess.
We are taking four nights enroute to Phoenix (Sun City) where Bob gets to play golf with his golfing mentor, his Uncle Floyd. When "Bobby" lived in Shreveport growing up in the 1950's, Uncle Floyd and his family visited from Omaha. Floyd and Bobby played golf (Bobby's 3rd time) at Querbes Park. After it was over, Floyd took Bobby into the backyard and told him: "If you're gonna play the game, Boy, you gotta learn to do it right!" And Uncle Floyd proceeded to show Bobby how - Bob's first lesson and for about 40 years, his only lesson.

16 Days to Go!!!
Two weeks and two days from now, Mary Alice, Gypsy and I will gas up Addie (2002 Winnebago Adventurer 35U) and begin our trek to Alaska. One month getting TO Alaska, one month IN Alaska and one month getting BACK home to Monroe, LA.
All the checklists have been updated and printed. The newspaper will be stopped. Marilyn and Mark will take care of forwarding important mail and keeping the yard looking nice.
Contrary to my conservative nature, I am flying against all good judgment by taking this 11,000 mile trip with the fuel prices so inflated. BUT (the biggest word in the dictionary)...we are, like a pig at breakfast, COMMITTED!
We leave Thursday, May 27th, and head west to Phoenix.
We expect to have sporadic access to the Internet so, the updates to this BLOG will be intermittent. I HOPE to get MA to contribute. She will prob. ignore it for weeks and then write an epistle!!!
